EmployAbility: Aspire

Tanya Lomond

Aspire provides employment support to people with High Functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Asperger's Syndrome. By working together with individuals interested in finding work, and local businesses, Aspire aims to address work challenges, and encourage progression within employment.
Are you considering employment? ASPIRE can help. Do you have a High-Functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorder? If so, ASPIRE can help you find and secure suitable employment. This can be full-time or part-time, permanent or work experience, or open or supported employment.
Aspire can help you to:
- Identify and assess your abilities
- Understand the effect of your disorder upon work related activities
- Develop your confidence to pursue employment opportunities effectively
- Prepare and support you in your place of work.
With the help of ASPIRE, Richard Terras successfully obtained the Certificate in Elementary Food Hygiene, which helped him secure a summer work placement at The Glen Pavilion, Dunfermline.
Having worked very hard and enjoyed the experience, he has now successfully obtained part-time permitted work as a catering assistant at Beath High School.
