Fife Employability Team

Fife EmployAbility Team part of Fife Council's Social Work Service, is one of Scotland's largest providers of employment services to people, and to employers people with disabilities. We provide practical support and guidance to individuals and organisations on disability issues in relation to employment. Fife EmployAbility Team are committed to enabling people affected by disability to achieve their employment goals.

Fife EmployAbility Team will place an emphasis on helping people to progress into open, mainstream employment, where this is the most suitable option for the individual. Where this is not currently an option, we can assist people to access alternative employment routes, including Workstep, Permitted Work, Fife Job Broker Service, Vocational Training, Voluntary Placements and Work Placements.

Fife Job Broker Service

Fife Job Broker Service assists people in receipt of Incapacity Benefits who are interested in finding work. Fife Job Broker Service is a partnership organisation which includes Fife Council's Fife EmployAbility Team and Development Services, RNIB Scotland and Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT).

Partnership working ensures that a wealth of knowledge and expertise is available locally to people with disabilities in Fife. Fife Job Broker

Matrix Fife

Matrix Fife is a supported business which provides employment opportunities to people with disabilities. Matrix Fife produces a high quality range of products including:

Furniture
Orthopedic equipment
Soft Furnishings

It also offers contract packaging and refurbishment of Occupational Therapy equipment.

FACET

Fife Arts and Crafts Enterprise Training (FACET) is a pre-vocational workshop, offering a range of employment skills and development opportunities to people affected by disability. Skills development opportunities include training in:

The One to One Project

The One to One Project provides a prolonged period of support to enable people with learning disabilities to successfully secure and sustain employment. Practical support can be provided to:

Develop travel skills
Learn skills in the job
Encourage workplace integration

Disability Awareness Training

Fife EmployAbility Team's Disability Awareness Training Packages will provide employers and staff with the skills to:

Gain a greater understanding of disability
Recognise and avoid the attitudes which create barriers and prejudice
Feel confident and comfortable when talking to a colleague or customer with a disability

Integrate people with disabilities in the workplace Implementing a Disability Awareness Training programme within your business will show that you, as an employer are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to people with disabilities, as required by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.

SAY It's Workable is a unique opportunity for people with learning disabilities to design and lead their own employment campaign, to have their opinions heard and listened to, and to change the way society sees people with learning disabilities.

Aspire provides employment support to people with High Functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Asperger's Syndrome. By working together with individuals interested in finding work, and local businesses, Aspire aims to address work challenges, and encourage progression within employment.
