Day Centres

There are nine day centres in Fife which provide a range of services for adults with physical or learning disabilities. These are run by Fife Council and offer services to over 600 people so they can:

  • take part in a wide range of local activities;
  • find jobs, training and learning opportunities;
  • andtake part in social and leisure activities.

You can find links to each of the centres below.

We also offer services to people with severe head injuries and people under 65 with dementia. We regularly consult with the people who use our services, their carers and other partners involved in our work. All our services are inspected twice a year by the independent Care Commission (this link takes you to an external site)

Traumatic Brain Injury Service

 

Rehabilitation lets people pursue educational goals and return to old passions.Fifeís Traumatic Brain Injury Service is part of Fife Councilís Social Work Community Care Resources and is currently located at 70 Stenhouse Street, Cowdenbeath.

The Service is a Fife wide resource for Adults, namely 16-65 years of age who have sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. It was the successful outcome of an application for Mental Health Specific Grant (MHSG) monies, and was established operationally in 1995. Staffing comprises:

Forward Centre

The Forward Centre is a purpose-built facility opened in 1985 in Glenrothes.

The Centre caters for people aged 18-65 years, who have primary physical or sensory impairment.

We offer a range of activities assisting people to aid development and to remain independent as well as acting as a focal point for services from other agencies e.g. Community Services, Speech Therapy, Health agencies and other Social work services.....
