Dalgairn: Significant and Complex Needs
The primary purpose of this service is to ensure that individuals facing some of the biggest personal challenges to their integration, acceptance and inclusion in the broader community are provided with the proper support, encouragement and resources to overcome as far as possible the physical, social and communication barriers that they are faced with.
This will be achieved by the development of holistic, individualised personal packages of support and development from a stable environment and base. This will be the springboard to accessing all other aspects of Dalgairn's provision with the personal support of a staff member in tune with all aspects of the person's needs. Staff working in this service will receive training specific to the personal care needs of the individual using the service.
It is expected and anticipated that all work will be identified and undertaken in close consultation with parents and carers with clear and regular lines of communication appropriate to each service user in establishing and maintaining a high quality, effective and rewarding service.
Whilst it is envisaged that normally the service will be provided within or from a service base, it may on occasion and in mutual agreement be more appropriate and beneficial to provide a service in the service user's own home for a specified period.
Suitable transport will be provided to and from services where necessary.
The service will not only cater for the social and emotional needs of its users, but also wherever possible and appropriate healthcare developmental and training needs.
