The crew arrives at Tobermory!

As promised, the following interview was carried out by the ‘Dalgairn Bloggers’ with Shaun Corstorphine, a crew member and also a blogger.

What is the Ocean Youth Trust?

“It is a project where people go out on a boat for a week and it is a sort of working, team building sort of week. We also learn sailing skills and other things like cooking”.

How many people can be on the boat at a time?

“Between us and the helpers and staff, there were 13 all together”

How many days did the trip last?”

“7 days”

What were the best bits?
“All of it was great so I couldn’t really choose any one thing”.
Were there any low points?

“Not that I can think of?”

That’s very positive, was it hard work?

“Yes, but it was worth it?”

Was anyone seasick?

“No although we felt a bit queasy at times!”

Did you wear a life jacket?

Yes, all the time, that was very important in case we fell overboard.”

Did you get any training?

“Yes, how to steer the boat, how to cook and how to evacuate the boat in an emergency.”

What were the beds like?

“Not very comfy!”

Did you ever manage to get out of the boat….to go to the pub?

“Yes! And to get a shower, shopping and to buy some presents to take home”.

Would you go again?

“Yes! Definitely”

Thanks very much Shaun, this has been an interesting interview and informative.
