On the 30th of April, a group of 8 service users completed their Caledonian Award. This is an award similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award and includes a residential trip. The group were; Andrew Hunter, Alan Johnstone, Ijaz Ali Anwar, Robbie Mckenzie Smith, Lisa Dishington , Tonia Coe, Wendy Robertson and Wendy Thomson.
Last week everyone got together for our first ëOpen Forumí. This is a meeting where everyone from Dalgairn comes together as a follow on from our consultation day and the new grading system put in place by the Care Commission. It was a great opportunity for all service users and staff to bring up any topics for discussion.
The meeting was led by Chris Morris and our Centre Committee with an open agenda. Most people enjoyed participating in the forum and several service users brought up some very useful and interesting points for discussion.

Dalgairn carpet bowlers had a very successful competition last Thursday at Aberhill Bowling Club.
Wendy Thomson, Tonia Coe and Jimmy wood all won trophies; needless to say, we had a great day that was enjoyed by all.
As you can see from the photo, Tonia is very pleased to be winning bowling trophies for the first time. She says it makes all that practice worthwhile!
We are in the process of organising electlons for new members of Dalgairn Centre Committee. The results will be available here in a few weeks. Good luck to all the candidates!
Our sports people in Dalgairn have had great success in the recent Swimming gala and pool and darts competitions.
We have an abundance of trophies and medals on display in the centre, demonstrating our wonderful sports skills although the other centres put up some fierce competition. Both events were great fun and enjoyed by all. (photos to follow soon)

The Centre Committee recently arranged a visit to the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. The debate was on the Forth Road Bridge tolls and due to the public interest on this topic, the debating chamber was full.
Although some time has passed, we thought you might like to hear about our Christmas party (2007) held at Dalgairn Centre.
